Paul began his career in music at Ridge Farm
Studios in Surrey as an assistant engineer. During his time
there he worked with Prefab Sprout Gary Katz (Steely Dan producer),
Paul Rodgers (Free Bad Company and Queen), Status Quo and
Thomas Dolby amongst others. In the early 1990’s Paul
joined ex-Aerosmith Rick Dufay in the US where he spent two
valuable years writing and performing with this highly talented
and inspirational character.
On his return to London, Paul recorded two albums with glam
rock band World of Leather where he worked with producer and
composer Tot Taylor. Notable credits include a remake of Hendrix’s
Voodoo Chile for a Saatchi’s Toyota commercial,The Comedy
Store Titles and a stint in The Viva Cabaret house band culminating
in four live performances with Tom Jones.
Paul has been, and remains, a regular addition to the highly
respected Music Sculptors team. For nearly 10 years, Paul
has worked with this, one of the top sound-to-picture companies
in the country and amongst a lengthy credit list, compositions
include: Sky Michael Jackson Trial , BBC Correspondent titles,
Cutting Edge incidentals for Channel 4, Making Space for Channel
Four, The History Channel main idents for Sky and Nintendo
and Adidas commercials.
Arrangement and guitar credits for The Music Sculptors include
the BBC’s multi million selling Perfect Day featuring
David Bowie ,Bono Dr. John and Robert Cray , a number one
album for Jane Macdonald and feature film Belly of the Beast
starring Steven Seagal.
In 1997 Paul began regular live guitar duties with ex-Mott
The Hoople front man Ian Hunter. Performing with such a legend
and a band that includes some formidable musicians proved
to be a fantastic experience for Paul.
Since the beginning of 2004 Paul has composed and recorded
three live library albums for JW Media: Buena Latina , Claret
Everywhere and Big Blues Bash. |
